John James –
So, Right to Life came out yesterday and confirmed what we should know by now – John James is the only reliable pro-life candidate in the GOP Primary for the U.S. Senate race. The other candidate, Sandy Pensler has a history of espousing pro-choice positions and even if, as he claims, his positions have evolved – there’s “just too much there…there” for any pro-life organization to endorse him. And Bob Carr didn’t do the necessary work to get the endorsement either. It’s notable that the only two main issues on Carr’s website are aviation and agriculture.
So, James scores the big endorsement and is making the case to voters that he’s the true “conservative values” candidate in the race.
Liberals pony up a six figure ad buy against Upton and Bishop –
Per MIRS NEWS:
Michigan Families for Economic Prosperity announced today the launch of an ad campaign that criticizes U.S. Rep. Mike BISHOP
(R-Rochester and U.S. Rep. Fred UPTON
(R-St. Joseph) for voting for the American Health Care Act (AHCA) and trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act. (Obamacare)
The ads are a six-figure buy that will run over several weeks in both Upton and Bishop’s districts. Michigan Families for Economic Prosperity is also in the process of creating radio ads with similar accountability messages to run at a later date.
So, it’s pretty clear the Dems are trying to scuff up these two Republicans in advance of the general election. Just one problem, they picked the WRONG issue on this one. If there one thing that brings Republicans and Independents together – it’s the nation’s hostility toward Obamacare’s higher premiums and fewer benefits since the “un”Affordable Care Act came into existence.
